About Global Communities

The purpose of this network of sites is quite simple. To give a voice to the English-speaking expatriate communities of over two dozen nations scattered across the world, and to give would-be expatriates who may end up relocating to these countries the opportunity to research where they are going and to network with those who know the place best and can appreciate both the good and the bad.

Why?

Why not? Registering a domain is cheap. It shocked me that in the wake of the much-hyped free promotion of .info domain names in late 2004, no-one from almost 30 nations thought that developing a site at nationality.info was a financially viable prospect. So, I stepped up to the challenge.

As an expatriate, who was born overseas too, I am uniquely placed to empathise with my visitors. As a parent, bringing up children in a culture very different to the one I grew up in, I am acutely conscious of the need to provide them with the cultural continuity that is their birthright. If I can help others do the same through these pages, great.
